From staged opera to a single performer, we specialise in recordings and broadcasts of classical and acoustic music.

We record, edit, and mix live or in post-production; we de-noise, master, or simply offer advice, wherever you're at with your project.

Our recording rig allows up to 128 inputs at 96kHz, 24-bit.

We work with SADiE, Reaper and ProTools, and have an acoustically-treated edit/mix room in London for attended or remotely-produced sessions.

ABOUT US

&audio is owned and operated by me, Andy Fell.

I worked for the BBC in London, UK, for 17 years. During that time I was the balance engineer for radio performances by many of Europe's foremost classical music artists and ensembles.

I recorded and mixed numerous features for BBC Radio including 4 series of Soundwalks (2019-2022). These longform audio pieces blended speech, music and immersive location sound. Produced by Jeremy Evans and Andy King, presented by Horatio Clare, the Soundwalks saw my 'trademark' furry microphone pole travel along the Arctic Circle Trail in Greenland, across the Pilgrims' Way to Holy Island at dawn, to the top of the 4 highest peaks in the UK, and along the precipitous sea cliffs of the Faroe Islands.

My freelance career began in 2018, in parallel with my continued work for the BBC. Classical music projects have included concert recordings for the London Symphony Orchestra, Wigmore Hall, the English Baroque Soloists, Monteverdi Choir and Orchestra, Grange Park Opera, Academy of Ancient Music, and a long list of esteemed ensembles and soloists.
